Thank you for visiting the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. of Mountain Top's
Web Page. The purpose of this page is to expand the ministries of our church
through cyberspace. With this new medium we hope to broadcast the message of Our
Lord Jesus Christ. While we have had the privilege of celebrating our 100th year
of fellowship we know that we must look to the future for continued growth, both
physically and spiritually.
We are a family oriented church believing in the teachings Jesus Christ. We are
located in Mountain Top Pennsylvania, at the foot of the Pocono Mountains.
Directions can be obtained from the How to Find Us
section of the nav bar. We hold worship services every Sunday Morning at 11:00
AM. during the Fall-Winter months and at 10:30 AM. during the Summer months
(June 9th. to Labor Day). A nursery is available every service for your
convenience, in addition worship packets are available in the back of the church
for the younger children.
Rev. James Shanley leads the congregation in the worship service and children's
talk each Sunday. Rev. Shanley his wife Caren and their three children accepted
our call to join with us in the year 1987. Since then they have played a major
role in both the growth and family companionship of our church.
We are fortunate that we have been able to maintain a family type atmosphere
with our growth. This we believe is our strongest asset, to be both an
instrument of our Lord, seeking ever to proclaim his word and also to offer a
helping hand not only within the church family but also within the community in
which we live.
We urge you to visit with us on a Sunday and join us in Christian Fellowship. We
are sure you will leave with both a heartwarming, uplifting feeling which will
entice you to become an active member of our congregation.
Below are some of the activities which make up a small part of our churches goal
to be an active participant in Our Lords plan for Christian Fellowship.
- Sunday - School ( every Sunday except through the Summer months )
- Sunday - Youth Group (meetings during the Summer are not held but
various activities under the direction of our Youth Director go on throughout the Summer season).
- Monday - Women's Bible Study, 1st Monday @ 7PM in the
church fellowship hall.
- Wednesday - Bible Study (meets at the church, all are welcome) at
7:00PM
- Thursday - Sr. Choir meets every Thursday - 7:00 PM.
- Advent Season - (instructions on preparing our hearts for Our
Lord's coming birth)
- Christmas Pageant - (month of December)
- Lenten Observance
- Bible Studies - Various Bible Studies are always going on, please
call the church office at 474-9951 for a list of current studies.
